US Refinery Energy Improvements As part of API’s Climate Action Challenge program, API member refiners have committed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by using less energy to make fuel products. The target has been set at a 10 percent energy-efficiency improvement by 2012. These energy efficiency improvements are being tracked using the Solomon energy intensity index. Energy Efficient Homes Initiative API is working in collaboration with Rebuilding Together,
the nation’s largest volunteer home rehabilitation organization aimed at helping increase energy efficiency in low-incomes homes. API is the national sponsor of the Rebuilding Together “Energy Efficient Homes Initiative” that will increase energy efficiency in nearly 10,000 low-income homes Rebuilding Together plans to revitalize next year. By making these homes more energy efficient, low-income homeowners will be able to save money by reducing energy usage, and have the materials and information to be able to use energy wisely into the future.
