In a public-private sector partnership, Chevron and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) launched an initiative aimed at improving education, healthcare and technical training in Angola. In one community-government partnership, some $400,000 is being spent on housing for teachers and principals at elementary and middle schools that are being rehabilitated by the Cabinda Provincial Government. In British Columbia, Petro-Canada partners with the Harmony Foundation, a charitable organization recognized for its leadership in environmental education, to help fund summer programs and provide professional development opportunities to environmental educators.
