A Tradition of Global Partnerships

ExxonMobil is proud of its long tradition of partnering with non-profit organizations around the world to address important community challenges and opportunities.

Here are just a few examples of partnerships with organizations around the globe.

  • In Kenya, ExxonMobil has been working in partnership with the Mukuru Promotion Centre since 1999. The Centre runs four schools which provide basic education to over 4,000 children from the industrial areas of Nairobi.

  • In Nicaragua, in partnership with the American Nicaragua Foundation, over a half million kids receive school supplies through the "write your future" program.

  • In Malaysia, ExxonMobil provides funds to the Women's Institute to support efforts in developing preschool education. Supporting 16 nurseries in the rural areas of Selangor, preschool children learn the rudiments of reading, writing and mathematics, while the younger children are provided with childcare services.

  • In Canada, ExxonMobil has supported Let's Talk Science, a national organization dedicated to improving science literacy, since 1996.

  • In Japan, the General Sekiyu Research Foundation was established in 1981 to grant subsidies for researchers, including university professors to continue energy-related studies.

  • In Saudi Arabia, funds to the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Gifted and Talented Students support a boy's summer program for science and math and the Girls Gifted Educational Center of Riyadh.

  • In the United Kingdom, the Esso Higher Education Support Scheme provides funds for equipment and course and staff development to Chemical, Mechanical and Petroleum Engineering Departments at targeted universities.
