Plan now to attend the API 2008 Fall Committee on Petroleum Measurement (COPM) Standards Meeting, October 13-16, 2008.

The informative program will include:
Several sessions covering topics related to new petroleum measurement issues.

Various standards committee sessions in which experts work toward consensus in the following areas:

  • Measurement accountability standards for cargos on board tank vessels 
  • Evaporative loss estimation 
  • Natural gas
  • Fluids measurement

Preliminary Program and Registration Information

  • Preliminary Program - Available approximately August 4.
  • Print and Fax a Registration Form
  • Register Online  (Please use for credit card payments only.  Otherwise, please print and fax a registration form.) On-line registration available in approximately two weeks.

The deadline for pre-registration is September 26, 2008.  After this date, you may still register for the meeting on-site.

Advance Your Standards
Your participation keeps API standards going strong, and we would like you to share your standards expertise with the next generation.  API invites you to sponsor first-time attendees from your company complimentary at all API 2007 standards meetings.

Complimentary registration is limited to first-time attendees, who must be sponsored and accompanied by a prior API standards meeting participant from the same company.  Pre-registration is required.  Registration for sponsored attendees will not be accepted on-site.  All hotel and travel expenses are the responsibility of the participant/attendee.

Sponsorship/Exhibitor Application and Agreements
Sponsoring or exhibiting at the COPM Standards Meeting is a targeted, cost-effective avenue for connecting with customers that you might not reach otherwise. The deadline for returning Sponsorship/Exhibitor Applications and Agreements is September 15, 2008.  Sponsorship items requiring artwork should be returned by September 1, 2008.

Hotel Information
Reservations may be made directly with the Hilton Long Beach by calling at 562-983-3400 no later than 5:00 pm, local time at the hotel, September 29, 2008. Please mention the American Petroleum Institute to receive the group rate of $169 single or double occupancy, plus applicable state and local taxes. After September 29, 2008, hotel reservations will only be accepted on a space available basis at the group rate for a limited time. The rate applies three days prior to and after the dates of the meeting.  

The Long Beach Hilton is located at 701 W. Ocean Boulevard, Long Beach, California 90831-3102.

Spouse/Guest Program
Breakfasts will be provided Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings. In addition to breakfasts, other activities are being planned as follows: 

Monday and Tuesday - Trip to Idyllwild, CA:  Overnight trip to Idyllwind to include the normal scrapbooking activity, shopping, tour, etc.  Costs, if any, in addition to the $125 spouse registration fee will be minimal.  Visit Idyllwild, CA for some information about that city.

Wednesday - Laguna Beach, CA:  More details forthcoming.
